    A Guy's Point of View
Being a guy, I have to give my review based a little different from the gals. I am not the type to come here for breakfast and shop until lunch. Nope... not gonna happen. But, I don't mind coming here with my wife for a meal and to let her shop a little. The restaurant is great. The whole way the businesses are laid out is great. I enjoy architecture, but even more so, reuse of old downtown structures. Kelly Square is an excellent example of this. Now, just add a knife shop, or better yet... a gun shop (Machine Gun Kelly's on the Square), and I will be all for the breakfast to lunch shopping experience. ;) Honestly, it's a neat place. If you've never been, it is worth the visit. Great place to find that upscale gift, for that special someone.

    Cool and Relaxed town square
The Grayson County courthouse is the center of Kelly Square and I was able to make my visit to Sherman on Memorial Day. There wasn't anything going on here at the time I arrived; actually it was really quiet but such a beautiful day. Perfect weather. The courthouse is pretty especially with so much greenery and has a few interesting monuments around its perimeter, including a time capsule set to be reopened in 2086 and a 9-11 Memorial. There are a few shops but none of the shopping interested us. I'd say my favorite spot on the square is definitely the Old Iron Post restaurant and bar. You can sit outside and take in the entire square. Great on a pleasant day with an ice cold beer. Amongst my many travel goals, I have a goal of seeing every historical county courthouse in Texas. Not so much for the courthouses themselves but because it usually brings me somewhere new and interesting within Texas. Often there is a great town square or downtown area to explore. That is the case here. Its a great way for me to get to know each county somewhat. Its a slow going goal and I don't know if I will ever complete it but its lots of fun to try.
