Grape Stomp & Tasting

We love wine. Not just drinking it, though that part is fun too. We love creating wine blends and different styles. And we really love sharing our wines with our friends and customers. We are excited that the Texas wine industry is starting to flourish, especially in beautiful central Texas. There are a lot of great wineries in our area. But once you taste our wines, we know we'll become one of your favorite stops on the Hill Country Wine Trail - if not your very favorite. Located on gorgeous property under towering oak trees, Hye Meadow Winery will make you feel right at home. Both our covered patio and our tasting room are the perfect spots to kick back, relax and enjoy a glass of well-crafted wine. We are happy to show you around our state-of-the-art winery, and offer a peek at our events pavilion for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other intimate gatherings.

    Girls trip
This was my favorite winery! It was super laid back with spectacular natural views. I feel like we received the most information about the wines and their origins than any other vineyard/winery we visited and it is 100% Texas. They didn’t have many white options, so if you don’t drink red, you might be disappointed. The cheese/bread board was out of this world. This isn’t a pretentious, formal tasting experience, very chill and relaxing ... highly recommended!!!

A Charming Texas Hill Country Wine Tasting Experience
When all of the other established Fredricksburg Texas wineries were overcrowded with people enjoying a break from the frigid Texas winter, Hye Meadow Winery was peacefully calm. We were greeted by Trish who had a smile as big as Texas and made us feel right at home. We started off our tasting with their Viognier. A very dry, crisp green apple taste with a citrus nose. The Edelzwicker followed. It is a blend of gewurztraminer and riesling. A semi dry, apple pear, refreshing wine. The Shade Tree Blush was next. Another blend, this time a mix of gewurztraminer and cabernet sauvignon. A semi dry rose, with all types of apple taste. Next up was the Hye Albert Cuvee, their Texas champagne. An amazing blend of symphony, malvasia bianca, and muscat blanc. This sparkling wine will delite your senses. Next up was the Junkyard Red. A blend of mourvedre, merlot and tempranillo. A true Texas red, with just enough oak, a little smoke, and a medium body. Wow! The Dolcetto was next. It's tart, complex berry taste, with hints of leather and light smoke make for a great steak wine. We proceeded with the Sangiovese, which is a blend of sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon. It starts with cocoa, follows with light smoke, complex berries, and just a hint of tobacco on the finish. Next up was their Orange Muscat. It has a pineapple citrus nose. It follows with crisp pear and pineapple, and finishes very crisp and semi sweet. We thought our tasting was over when we were asked if we liked Tempranillos, which we responed "Hell Yes". Their Tempranillo was not ready for the market, and they only had a few bottles to sample. It starts with a complex berry nose, follows with bing cherries, a hint of smoke, and the most balanced soft finish. Wow! This is a tempranillo that you will never forget. We loaded up a case consisting of Hye Albert Cuvee, Edelzwicker, Junkyard Red and Shade Tree Blush and felt absolutely fortunate to be able to buy a single bottle of their Tempranillo. The tasting room is bright and cheerful with incredible views of the Hill Country. And Trish, our host, was a Texas delight. Don't miss this winery. It is new, but will be gaining attention with all that it brings to the table.
