Good way to spend a day in a nice zoo
We had to make reservations on line and only a limited number of tickets were available for each half hour time slot. Saturday was sold out, so we went Sunday. It is better to arrive early as the free parking fills up fast. By 10AM most spots were gone. The zoo cost a little over $22 each for the general admission. They had half hour entry times to keep crowds down. at 10AM it was organized and the lines were not terribly long. The grounds are very nice with tree shaded walks so you aren’t roasting in the sun all the time. There are maps around so you can find your way pretty well. It is possible to see the whole zoo in one day if you work on it. The animal habitats were large and clean. The animals appeared healthy. highlights were the giraffes, elephants, big cats. Don’t miss the reptile and bug houses even if you have to wait in line a bit. They are very well done and the displays are easy to read with video screens displaying info about the animals. It was a very pleasant place to spend a day. yes, food was expensive, but at least some of that goes to feed the animals and maintain the park. At the end of the day toward 4PM it was getting crowded and the lines to get into the main park were huge. There seemed to be no parking at all in the free lots late in the day. there is a nice path around the lake which is a pleasant walk as you leave the zoo proper.

    Christmas Lights
Prices continue to increase each year for this venue with adult tickets at $25.00 each in 2019. A little pricey, but all attractions were well maintained and enjoyable. Admission to the Zoo Lights does not include regular admission to the zoo. Typically, the zoo will shut down at 500pm and all guests must exit. Then, at 600pm, the property reopens for ticket sales or ticket holders of ZOO Lights. Avoid the crowds and buy your tickets on line! Overall, an enjoyable evening given some overly inflated pricing!
