A must see if you love plants

Our group of 20 had a great visit today at Hilltop Gardens. Eventhough it wasn't a typical South Texas day, our walk through these beautiful gardens was wonderful. Paul Thorton, Garden Manager, provided a guided tour and described the many, many tropical and exotic plants, shrubs, flowers and trees. The meditation garden was soothing and inviting. If you love beautiful plants, you should not miss this hidden treasure.

    Beautiful gardens
These gardens are extremely manicured and the guide is the gardener who knows all about the flowers, trees, and various aloes. This is a registered organic farm that raises many types of aloe and lots of vegetables. they sell to large beauty and grocery firms. The welcome building is beautiful and the tour begins with videos of various topics about the Garden. It is a worth the drive off highway 77 to see the Hilltop Gardens.

    Beautiful gardens
I visited Hilltop Gardens with a group of about 20 friends. I didn't know what to expect as I only knew that this was a place that had something to do with Aloe plants and Aloe Vera. Well I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. We were first introduced to our tour guide Paul Mallard who began our visit with a couple of videos on the history of the gardens, its' purpose and information on Aloe harvesting and production. After that we were taken for a tour of the gardens where he identified many plants and trees to us and told about their history and area of origin. Paul is a very knowledgeable person and you would be very lucky to have him as your guide. They also have a gift shop with many Aloe Vera products for sale at good prices. You must be at least 10 people for a guided tour, however they also have a self guided tour with information with earphones.
