Birds galore
Make the short drive from DFW to see flocks of birds rest/relax on their migratory routes. We saw hundreds of pelicans, turkey vultures, heron, water birds, and even an ibis! Lots of places to hike. Highly recommend a visit.

Saturday afternoon pastime
Found the hagerman wildlife refuge on a Saturday we were looking for something to do. We weren't really sure what to expect but the staff/volunteers were very helpful, gave us a lot of history on the property and suggested we take the tran tour to view the area and birds. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we got some great pictures as well. The tram tour was windy and the weather was cool. Our next trip will definitely be during warmer weather.
