Gorman Falls, Texas, United States
4.5 (99 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Bend Waterfalls
Nice falls
Trail to Falls is 3 miles in/out relatively flat but extremely rocky so watch your footing. Most of trail is in woods so ideal for summer hiking in Texas. There’s a steep descend at end with ropes to prevent a total wipe out. We were not too proud to use them. Falls had a good flow vs a measly trickle; however, the moss was still brown & had not rebounded from last winter. Encountered lots of vultures, few butterflies & 1 armadillo. Limited wildflowers & trees blooming.

Gorman Falls a MUST SEE!!!!
Visited Colorado Bend a Texas State Park, just to see Gorman Falls. The hike is 1.5 one way. The views are amazing, peaceful and worth the trip. I visited this park early March and it had plenty of visitors visiting this trail. I recommend wearing comfortable hiking shoes on this hike. This is a hidden gem in the Texas State Park system.

Not much water flowing, but beautiful
I enjoyed the falls, but unfortunately , there was significantly less water flow over them at the time of our visit. The falls area was beautiful though. The trail to the falls is rocky, and there is not much shade, you will need water and sunscreen. We saw lots of beautiful cactus along the way. The round trip took us about 1 1/2 hours and was just under 3 miles. The final descent to the falls is steep and slick, but they do have wires you can hold to help you get down. It’s a cool hike if you are already in the area.
