Ft. Clark days
Attended Ft. Clark days at Ft. Clark Springs and I was very impressed with the Fort, community, and all that is there. Although I wasnt able to view the museum, what I saw of the Fort itself makes me wish I could have stayed longer. The fort has an interesting history and the community has helped keep the history current and the Fort presentable. Unlike some forts, the buildings are occupied with families and a motel is part of the community for guest. All together, the fort is really an interesting place to visit and see. Fort Clark days was a great event to attend and should be attended by those who missed it this year.

An oasis near Del Rio and the border
This post is a veteran/military historian's dream. I served at Ft Sam in San Antonio and the same old architecture on the older areas of Ft Sam Houston is evident here. The post is privately owned. To gain access to the spring fed pool you must purchase a parking decal (rear view mirror tag, actually). You do that at the check in office for those who want to camp out in an RV. This was a day trip for us from San Antonio. We loved the pool. I number it among many great ones in Texas: Hamilton Pool preserve, Barton Creek and Balmorrhea pool near Ft Stockton. In the heat of blast furnace Texas summer the water at Clark was cool and refreshing.
