    Disappointing in many ways
I really hate to say anything bad about Marlin because this former boom town really does have so much potential, but this park really needs some TLC. An August afternoon in Texas isn't the ideal time to visit a park, but it just seemed very neglected and downtrodden. Although the front gate said to check in, there was no one to check in with. We just spent a short time looking around, but within the first 15 minutes at the falls (the part where you could walk across the river) we saw three snakes, a handful of dead fish, and a fair amount of trash. The river water was dirty and it just kinda smelled. Not that this is the park's fault since the park isn't the source of the water and the river isn't contained within the park boundaries. The roads aren't well marked and it just feels abandoned. For a place so rich with history, and one with so much promise for the future, I really hope they'll put a little TLC into it and help bring it back to a destination location. They do have an American Bald Eagle viewing platform, and I'm hoping that winter will bring the Eagles back and the pride in this park along with it. It deserves better.

    Not Much Here
We visited the Falls on the Brazos Park. It was just a plain, country style park with little to offer. Brush had grown up in numerous places, but the park was generally clean. This place has so much potential, but nobody seems to want to invest in it. What a shame, because it could be something. As it is, don't bother going out there...
