Wonderful experience!

My husband and I booked the private tour and tasting this Saturday and it did not disappoint! Ron did an amazing job at teaching us about the process of making their wine and showing us their facilities. He even got me to venture out and try new wines and learn more about what I like and dont like. Our tour finished with 6 wine tastings and a charcuterie board that was delicious. We then stayed and split the French dip and fries. Everything was so good! We are already planning to bring family back and we joined there wine club!! They HAVE AMAZING WINE!! We bought 3 bottles and still have so many more that we cant wait to try! We love the vibe, the view, and the vino!!

Great SERVICE ~ Great FOOD ~ Great WINE ~ Great LIVE MUSIC
My daughter-in-law and I enjoyed our evening at Enoch’s Stomp Vineyard and Winery celebrating her birthday, after an earlier trip to Kiepersol Estates. What a day!! We especially enjoyed the ambiance at Enoch’s. Blake and Britney paid close attention to our table and gave excellent service. Blake has always been one of our favorites, always so attentive and caring. The food was excellent, as usual. DIL had the carrot/cumin soup and we shared 2 appetizers: Goat Cheese and Steak Crostini and the Rosemary/Parmesan Fries. The portions were plentiful. YUMMY! The wine was chilled and really nice. We were there on a Saturday night, and they had live music. I cannot remember the guys name but he played solo with a single guitar and had a FABULOUS voice. We enjoyed the music very much. David came by our table for a visit and was nice and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. They gave us a sample of the new semi-sweet port wine. It is very good! They surprised us with a nice warm, tasty brownie with ice-cream for my DILs birthday. What an end to a sweet evening. Enoch Stomp is one of our favorite places to visit. I recommend it strongly.  NOTE: We sure miss our girl Marla. She was always like a breath of fresh air.

    Enoch's Stomp Winery
A few miles northwest of Marshall but not all that easy to find. Needs better signage, drivers before and after me missed the turn from the road and had to turn around and come back. But worth the hunt. Pros: great web page, nice property with wonderful views, above average wines at reasonable prices, (their Norton was my favorite of a recent 5 winery tour), and a Saturday lunch. Cons: Small tasting room not set up for the traffic they are getting. Physical layout awkward, wines are kept on a counter or in fridge five feet from where they are poured, meaning servers constantly bumping into each other, and they use a computer program for a cash register (also several feet from counter), which slows process tremendously. You also have to go back and forth between the lodge where you eat lunch and the winery across driveway to buy glasses of wine or bottles of water while you are eating. They need to take a hard look at streamlining their systems since both the staff and the customers were getting a bit frustrated when I was there. More Cons: The lodge is nice, but tiny decks mean only a few people can sit outside and enjoy the view - whole point of eating at a winery. Saturday lunch also a bit odd. Web page touts that local chefs cook lunch, but $12 lunch consisted of a cold shrimp salad croissant, a bit of salad, some chips and a cookie. Not expecting a 5 course meal for $12, but wasn't expecting a cold sandwich on paper plates either. On the other hand, it was a good sandwich/salad/cookie. Bottom line: Lots of potential. Great property, fairly easy to get to, and one of the best Texas wines I've tried. With a few tweaks they could become a must-go destination for locals and travelers. I look forward to trying them again in the Spring to see how they are doing.
