Elmwood Cemetery, Texas, United States

4.5 (3 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #9 in Mineral Wells Historic Sites • Cemeteries

Needs an index.

This is a very nice well taken care of cemetery, but it's hard to get around and need some sort of an on-site index.

    So much history
Beautiful cemetery at the bottom of the hill. Local pioneers laid to rest here. The grounds are well kept. I strolled through it twice and still didn't see all of it!

    Historic 1886 Cemetery
This is a large, well-kept historic cemetery with most markers showing dates in the 1800's. There are a few interesting large monuments, like that of the brothers who both served in the Civil War, and many markers for the pioneers and prominent residents of Mineral Wells. The cemetery is quiet and peaceful and I was surprised to see a small herd of deer in the back of the cemetery. Heavy cedar coverage on the hillside of the cemetery which leads to the water tower is beginning to overtake a few large cemetery plots on the hillside. Nice stop for those interested in historic Texas cemeteries and the history of Mineral Wells.
