Stopped on a whim
One hundred acres of wooded beauty, trees, flowers, and wildlife await your discovery at the East Texas Arboretum. The forest appears to come alive as you meander along two miles of woodland trails. Camouflaged frogs, insects, and even deer often scurry away as you pass. Make your way along winding, spring-fed streams connected by a 115-foot suspension bridge. Experience life in early Henderson County at the historic Wofford House Museum. Built in 1850, the home was relocated to the arboretum several years ago. It now stands as a reminder of early pioneer days complete with period furnishings, memorabilia, and a seasonal garden. The arboretum is available to host reunions, meetings, retreats, weddings, receptions, and picnics. Just imagine how beautiful a bride is when framed in the arbors of spring! Come join us for a walk in the park.

A Nice Walk, worth the visit.
Lovely park. Very nice 1 or 2 mile hikes through the woods and over a pedestrian suspension bridge highlights different micro ecosystems on the hillside. Plenty of benches for resting if you need them. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is because some of the areas touted in the office intro (when you check in and pay) are neglected. No bees in the hive, bat houses are literally falling apart, signs and photos faded and needing updating, and there is a grasslands area in the back of the gardens that obviously hasn't been tended in years. Office staff needs to walk the property and educate themselves on what is or is not still viable/of potential interest.

Stunning, Beautiful Place to Hike
We came here a few months ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed hiking the trails at the arboretum. The nature, plants, and ecosystems present here are absolutely beautiful to see, and coming to the East Texas Arboretum is a great way to enjoy nature and spend time with loved ones. The trails are practically endless, and you can spend as little as ten minutes or as long as an entire afternoon hiking all of the trails. The suspension bridge was amazing to walk across, and I loved the experience of being alone with nature. I would reccomend this arboretum to anyone who enjoys nature, hiking, or exploring, as it is a wonderful place to visit.
