Stopped in just to check it out then walked the path. Green area in the middle of the desert due to a small spring. lots of birds, butterflies and bees for photos. Shade was nice!!

Nice oasis
This is a nice picnic & hiking area in The Rio Grande Village area. 4 or 5 miles southeast of Panther Junction. "Improved gravel road", which means it's graded & has a minimum of pot holes. There's a picnic area in the trees. & it's just a beautiful place to chill for a while. There's the infamous NPS pit toilets available also. There's a short .5 easy trail : The Chihuahuan Desert Nature trail. A nice little loop trail that takes you back to the picnic area. Perfect for families with small children. We were glad we stopped!
