Dublin Dr Pepper

Visited two weekends in a row. Business was slow both days, not that many people visiting this establishment. Not sure if it is due to the pandemic, their feud with Corporate Dr Pepper, or a combination of both. Watch the documentary "Bottled Up" available for free through Prime Video which tells the history of Dublin Dr Pepper and their legal issues with Dr Pepper corporate.

    Get you some
Disappointing that there wasn’t a tour of the bottling operation but if you’ve seen one bottler you’ve seen em all, right? Seriously, no tour but you can still see inside the plant from the outside. There’s a small gift shop with shirts (lots of cool designs), hats, magnets and signage available. You can also buy a case of 24 bottles ($25 if the same flavor) or $30 for an assorted case of flavors. Although they don’t make their famous “Dublin Dr. Pepper” I did get my favorite grape drink.

    Honor Stripped and Still Going
The first real Dr Pepper manufacturing establishment was here. Anyone that remembers the old setup remembers Pretty Peggy, and the little town of Dublin changing their name one week a year to Dr Pepper, Texas. However, after a dispute they were stripped of this honor. They didn’t give up. They began the new bottling works establishment and began making all flavors of sodas such as root beer, orange, cherry and many others. They are stilling going. Step back in time and take a tour. It’s amazing to watch.
