Another beautiful historic courthouse building in Texas
This 1896 building is one of the many beautiful county courthouses across Texas. Although there is currently extensive work being done on the grounds with a fence surrounding the building, it is still worth stopping to see if you enjoy historic buildings. Although we did not enter, the courthouse is open. It is located near the historic downtown but is not located on a traditional town square. When here, you should also visit the lovely historic business area where you will find some nice shops in historic buildings (including the Pharmacy Museum)

Great Texas Court House
The architecture is interesting. If you can get inside, don't miss the Courtroom on the second floor. The ceiling is two stories tall and there are two rows of windows in the walls. We were instantly reminded of the courtroom in "To Kill a Mockingbird". This one also has a big balcony.

Good place to start a visit of historic Cuero
My husband and I toured around Cuero as we were just passing through. Our first stop was the Dewitt County Courthouse. We could see the tall structure for a long distant and it look intriguing. There was plenty of space to park our pickup and 27 foot travel trailer. We got a good stretch walking around the courthouse and enjoying the awesome architecture. It is certainly worth a 5-10 minute stop to see the 1897 courthouse. There are many large historic homes in Cuero dating back to the late 1800s. Plan for 30 minutes to drive around.
