I love historic buildings and I absolutely was intrigued by this one! It is located in the historic area and near the courthouse where there was a farmers market going on during a Saturday morning. It was easy to park and walk around. The monument stands out looking like a castle so it was easy to find. I have traveled all over visiting war monuments and this is by far the most unique one I have come across. Hopefully this beautiful architectural gem can stay preserved as a historic landmark for many generations to come. It truly is worth stopping just to look at.

This unique civil war museum is a tribute to veterans of all wars, but is open by appointment only. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at (979) 732-8385 to schedule your visit.

Great local monument.
Great and important piece of Texas and local History. The museum is closed until they can find someone to staff it. Unfortunately nit was recently defaced by a local social justice warrior, looking to make a name for himself. Hopefully the plaques will be restored soon. We should try to erase or re-write history.
