Very nice abbey in Irving!
It is located in 114 highway, near Lake Carolyn. It was built in 1956, the same year that the University of Dallas. The church is nice and austere. The landscape is beautiful: mesquite trees, cottonwood, and wild flowers. Mass is solemnly celebrated in the sanctuary.

Wonderful Gregorian Mass Experience
The Cisterian Abbey is run by a community of monks belonging to the cisterican order, servicing the Roman Catholic church in Dallas since 1955. On Sunday mornings, at 9 am, they have an inspirational sung mass in Gregorian style. The whole community of monks, around 20, participate in the celebration and sing. The priest presiding the mass alternates on successive masses, but the homily is always well thought out and brings an intriguing message to meditate on. The architechture of the builidng of monastery style adds to the inspirational experience. You leave the celebration feeling refreshed. Worth the visit.

Lovely Sunday Mass
Sunday Mass at the Abby was lovely. Gregorian chant was used for all propers and prayers. Beautiful chapel modeled after an ancient European monastery chapel. Very family friendly atmosphere.
