Yes, I did go on Safari. So should you!
We went on Sunday over Labor Day 2021. Sundays open 1-4 pm fyi. We stopped for lunch at the Catfish King 1417 E Rusk St in Jacksonville, (get the catfish special for $8.95) then it's just 15 minutes or so to the Cherokee Trace Safari. It was very cool seeing all the different animals. You are given a one pound bag of feed per ticket. Please follow the rules and toss the feed on the ground, don't let the animals eat out of your hand, you could get them sick. Be aware the bigger animals will put their whole head into your car! They are much bigger than I had imagined. Tip: After about an hour you're going to think you are at the end -you're not. You'll see a sign saying You're only 1/4 of the way through! So don't use up all of your feed too soon. There are 3 cattle guards to cross that separate the animals. Some of the deer in the back seem skinnier than the ones up front. You can buy extra bags of feed when you get your ticket. I will do that next time.

    Great outdoor visit- fun animals
My husband and I visited the Drive-Thru Safari because it was a safe experience during social distancing. We loved seeing and feeding a large variety of animals whom we did not have to distance from. They came up to our car and many eagerly accepted the food pellets included in the admittance fee. We took a lot of great photos and laughed at how friendly some of the animals were. I think we saw about 90% of the animals listed on their website. It was a great 1.5 hour visit. We arrived before noon on a Saturday, so there was a crowd but no line to enter. When we left the line was very long. I'm sure the crowd will be less in the future.
