Very nice hiking trails
My husband and I and our two terrier dogs spent the day hiking in this park. We were very pleased with the trails---they are well marked and maintained. The bathrooms at the park are super clean and nice too. We enjoyed walking along the lake by the perch pond as well as seeing the history at the Penn Farm. All in all, it was a great day!

There are better Texas State Parks
The advantage of this park is that is located right in the middle of the Metroplex, so a short driving distance to those of us who live in DFW. There are definitely better parks in the Texas State Parks System. The lake right here is currently closed due to flooding, so no water activities at this time. We came here to ride our bikes.
