Great park with shade and scenery

Went here for a 2 day stay in site #36 right on the lake. We had a beautiful view from our trailer over the lake. We set our chairs up right under the trees and had plenty of shade. Many of these sites are not big rig friendly. We saw several large fifth wheels scrapping tree tops. Many of the sites don't go very far back either. While our site was sloped it was level from side to side. The picknic table are all under covered structures and while they are old they seem to be in good shape. We enjoyed this COE campground especially when using our senior pass getting a $13 per day rate.

    Our go-to weekend spot
We love this park. We have an RV and frequently camp at this location. They have water and electric hookups only (dump stations are on site). They have several bath houses as well. There is a campground area that requires a passcode to get in (by vehicle) which gives a little extra privacy. The campsites are wooded mostly and provide nice shade which helps with the heat. They provide fire pits (can't be used during a burn ban) and very nice charcoal grills. They also have a gazebo with a picnic table at every site. The campground area is well maintained, volunteers are constantly keeping the place up. I've never seen a problem with trash and I have actually seen the maintenance people pressure washing all the gazebos. The sites are all back-in and can accomodate some huge rigs. There are also a bunch of them that are waterfront. You can reserve them online and choose your spot. There is a fishing dock inside the campground area but it is frequently not floating. Went there this morning and it is at a steep angle, kids were catching fish though. There's a boat ramp that we have used many times, boat launch fee is $4 (annual passes available I think are $36), and much less crowded than Travis. No amenities on the water, just restrooms near the boat ramps. They have a day dock where you can leave your boat or pick people up, but when the lake gets low its not functional. Many people don't know, but there is some really great biking around the lake. If you like to mountain bike, there are some gnarly trails, as you come in the gate, look on the left side for a parking area, which is the trail head. It is definitely what I'd call advanced and you want to wear a helmet. There are even some waterfalls wayyy back in there. You can spend hours hiking (and possibly getting lost) so bring lots of water (bring some for your dogs too!) and maybe your phone. There's some nice views over looking the water. This park also has some day-use gazebos. They have shade and grills (nice ones), but I don't think they have water or electricity. its not far to go to the restrooms though. I also saw that they have one which is wheel chair accessible. The park is near some major shopping areas, which is nice. We always end up making a trip to HEB to get ice, food, gas, etc.. its not far, maybe 10 minutes drive.

    Clean camping and hiking
Not a state park, but very similar. I felt very safe. Lots of old folks in RVs and families with kids. Good hiking and lake activities. Large sturdy covered tables. Large restrooms with hot showers, but minimally equipped.
