An amazing cavern and Ranch to park your RV.
These caverns are so amazing and beautiful! The tour is worth the cost of $20 per person. There are other types of tours than the general walking tour to the bottom of these caverns. The only concern we had was the amount of steps involved. They said it was 15 stories to the bottom and we were able to traverse all of it at our pace and the steps were only 12 at a time or textured ramps. They had railings where needed to support you and the best part was how close the formations were to the path through the cave and how many unique and magnificent formations were in this cave. It is an active cave and very protected from human contact so at times you feel like you are walking in a glass house. This is a hidden gem on a working ranch with RV/camping areas. We stayed in our RV and there were no other RV’s there on a Friday night. It was only 12 min. Off Rt.10 1 hour west of San Antonio.

    Big Bend Roadtrip
This was our halfway point on a trip from Galveston to Lajitas, Texas. Two couples with a 31’ bumper-pull camper behind an F250. We knew that because of Houston and San Antonio traffic we would have to break up the trek into 2 days. We weren’t expecting much. The sight was not too crowded. Staff friendly and helpful. The reviews for the cavern seemed over the top, but it did not disappoint. The guide was very knowledgeable. One of the prettiest caves you can experience. They limited the number of people in the group to 6, must purchase the group ticket, no one else can join your family/group. The cave is warm and humid. Wear sneakers and leave the jacket behind. It’s not a strenuous walk but does take about an hour and 20 minutes. We wouldn’t have stopped here but for it being on the route. Glad we didn’t miss it.
