    Great experience
This is our second time we toured this cave in the past 3 years. We like it better than the other cave. This time, our tour guide was Emily. She was the best guide one could have. She gave us excellent details on the cave, answered all of our questions, warned us about the slippery spots, and warned us about bumping our heads. The best part was when she turned out the cave lights to allow us to experience total darkness. Emily also told us repeatedly during the tour not to touch the cave walls and not to shine the flashlights at the cave critters. She even showed us an example of a dead spot in a cave formation where over the years people have touched (this was before they knew about the damage from human contact). The spot was blackened. She warned us over and over not to touch the cave walls. So, if you read some negative reviews about this issue just keep in mind the tour guides will warn you. For us, the price paid was worth the experience. Just be warned, there are steps and you need to come back up those same steps. It wasn't bad for my wife and I and we're in our 60's. It was a fun experience.

    Cascade Caverns personal tour
We had a wonderful experience! We went on a week day in early December. We pulled into the parking lot and didn’t see any other cars and wondered if it was closed. Walked into the gift shop and was warmly greeted by three people that appeared to be busy doing gift shop things. One of the young men introduced himself and as I was about to ask him to repeat his name, because I didn’t catch it, as it was a bit unusual sounding to my ears, said to just call him by his nickname of “Stingray”, everyone does, because, as he explained, it was easier than remembering his real name, assured us that they were open and that he would personally take us on a tour of the caverns. “ Stingray’s” attitude from the get-go was upbeat. He started out with some light-hearted conversation and gave us a safety briefing before the tour. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable about the caverns, it’s history, geological makeup, and the local ecology that surrounds the area. This young man took just the two of us on an hour + tour of the caverns that was filled with education, great conversation and humor. He answered all of our questions and interjected a few personal tidbits in his conversations that made the tour a wonderful experience. Though it’s a smaller family-owned venue, we would highly recommend the Cascade Caverns tour for anyone that appreciates a more personable experience!
