This place is amazing!
We got married here. It was beautiful and perfect. The person that takes care of the calera foundation that I reserved the chapel thru was great! She was very helpful. She got me the number to the justice of the peace for balmorhea, he was also amazing! Pat also helped us find a photographer from pecos. This place is worth the drive for sure! The view is beautiful as well.

Going to the Chapel
Ok so there is not much to do here and the chapel is in the middle of nowhere but what a great testament to faith and culture. This is a great little peaceful haven for travelers to stop for a moment of reflection.

Small, intimate wedding location
Although we had been to Balmorhea State Park many times to swim in the pool at San Solomon Springs, we had never even heard of this chapel until our niece got married there this past weekend. It held about 40 people including the wedding party on its benches and, thankfully, the weather wasn't too warm and a good breeze provided "air-conditioning" along with some hand-held fans. There are no restroom facilities so you have to improvise as our niece did by bringing her grandfather's RV. The reception was set up under a tent on one side of the chapel although the afternoon sun wasn't deterred much by the tent itself. Definitely not for everyone but it is available for such events.
