A park ranger with excellent teaching skills
A highly recommended park in northeast Texas with the largest natural lake in Texas and interesting swamp-land. This park is near the towns of Karnack, Uncertain, and Marshall.

Beautiful waterlands. truly fascinating to consider how the park was created thanks to the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) - a program funded as part of Roosevelts New Deal Plan. We met a great Park Ranger who provided a wealth of information in a way that framed the entire experience elegantly. thank You for your tile today!

East Texas Treasure!!!!
Canoeing under the large bald cypress trees in East Texas is a treat! If you love traveling to Texas State Parks then check this one out. The trails are short and sweet, but the main attraction is kayaking/canoeing the lake. One of the best State Parks near East Texas, you won't be disappointed. -Mr. S
