    Affordable, small waterpark
The Community Activity Center in Flower Mound offers a small waterpark experience for families on a budget. It costs $6 for adults and $4 for kids if you are residents of Flower Mound ($8 and $6 if you are not). There is an indoor pool with diving boards and also a mini rock climbing wall the kids can scale before jumping back into the water. The outdoor area has two large water slides, a mini-lazy river (no inner tubes; just body floating); a little vortex (that whirls you around in its current), and a play structure (basically a small playground with a couple of tot slides, soft landing, and water features, including a dumping bucket). The outdoor waterpark also has a concession stand. This experience is best for kids age 5-12 who are swimming. It would probably bore children over 12. Once you pay to go in, that entry gives you access to the indoor pool/outdoor waterpark, locker rooms, fitness center, and game room (with air hockey, wii, shuffleboard, ping pong, foosball, pool, etc.), so you can stay a bit longer and play or exercise as well. It's not an impressive park, but it's cheap and clean, and my kids enjoyed it. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds.

    Great local resource
If you ever need to keep the kids entertained, look here first. From equipment, facilities to classes and camps, they have it. The water park is family oriented. The "fun" cut off for kids is 8th or 9th grade. Water park is geared for smaller kids. Indoor pool is available year round too. If you are a resident, there are great family packages too?
