Unique and exciting educational experience

Attended a special event that allowed us to meet an employee from each department of the building and design our own dollar. Even without the event, the free guided tour would have been worthwhile. My 9 year old was so impressed with the "money factory" and unique gift shop. A must see in the DFW area!!

    Chaching!!!
After visiting with my students as a field trip I decided to bring my family to see one of two bureau of engraving and printing in the whole USA. My family which consisted of a 6 six year old really enjoyed it. The whole trip it self was about 1 -2 hours. Learning about how money is made and the process was really neat! There is a self guided tour where you can hear audio about the whole process. The audio tour comes in 2 languages English and Spanish. There are translated into other languages but that information is only in print. The tour is self guided but it normally take about 10- 20 minutes. There is also a 20 minutes film and a money museum( all are optional). No need for tickets because everything is free! There is also a gift shop with prices ranging from 2 to 100+. Purses or cellphones are NOT allowed into the facility. It would just be better if you leave everything in your car and only bring your keys. Also you will have to take a short (1 minutes) drive from the security entrance to the main building.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our visit
There were three adults, one 9 year old boy, and a toddler. The audio self guided tour was perfect for us. The 9 year old was fascinated by the tour and the displays and the adults thoroughly enjoyed it all, as well. It was a great outing for a cold, rainy day. I will go back with other guests another time.
