...It's better to get this picture from the highway. Not much there really. The Cross at exit 112 is a much better stop.

    The Leaning Tower of Texas
Now an eye-catching decorative item alongside US Interstate 40, the tower was originally a functioning water tower before being purchased prior to its intended demolition. Following its purchase by Ralph Britten, the tower was transported to Groom from the town Lefors 34 miles away for the purpose of providing unique marketing signage for the purchasers on-site truck stop restaurant alongside the former path of historic Route 66. The tower was deliberately lifted on one side to provide its eye-catching leaning effect. Unfortunately the truck stop and restaurant are no longer operational but the tower remains a star visitor attraction and appropriately is illuminated at Christmastime with a huge colored star on its top. Worth a visit for a unique photo opportunity.
