Alligator Heaven
this month we hiked around the park and luckily it was an overcast day or we probably would have melted in the Texas heat! The park is beautiful and some of the trails are very shaded. Today we counted 55 alligators in our tally as we hiked the trails around the lakes. I got a film of one ten foot alligator crawling across the trail in front of us! Amazing.

A very nice State Park with interesting wildlife
A very nice State Park, easily big enough to wander around a full day, and yes, of course, there are alligators. I really enjoyed my hikes here, particularly on some of the more remote forest trails, and around the Elm lake which is great for alligator and bird watching. Although this park is popular it never really feels overcrowded. You can walk on the remoter trails and feel you’re the only one out there.
