Beautiful place. One of my favorite National Parks.
The park has restricted many areas due to COVID but there were still many places to visit. We came here to photograph and found many things to shoot as the mountains are stunning. We loved the overlook at the Rio Grande which allowed a look across into the neighboring village. The residents, apparently, wade across the river and have set up small displays to sell their wares via the honor system. Prices are shown on artwork and walking sticks. You put the asked price into a small container and off you go. It’s nice that the park allows this as the border is closed due to the pandemic. We wished we could have gone across based on earlier reviews here on TA. Later, we came upon what we originally thought were wild horses, which allowed me to photograph, but I read that most of these wander across the river from the Mexican village. I guess the farmers bring the horses down to drink at the river and they simply walk across. I read different stories about what they do with the trespassing livestock but I hope they send them back across as the village looks exceptionally poor. When everything re-opens, I could spend a couple of days here, it’s that beautiful Enjoy!

    A beautiful and remote drive.
This is so different from other parts of the NP. Its much drier and more remote. Its beauty is immense but it feels eerie, almost like someone or something is watching you! I wonder if any other visitors have had that feeling, maybe it was the day we were there!
