Still Pretty even at the end of April

You absolutely must stop in the Visitor Center (on Main st) before starting out. They will show you the best places to see bluebonnets, where to park, etc, and give you a good map to follow. Trying to follow the signs without the map is challenging - better to get instructions from a Visitor Guide. We came on the last day of the trail (April 30) and there was still plenty of flowers to see. IMO, the best place for photos was near the lake. That area had the most Indian Paintbrush mixed in with the Bluebonnets. Keep an eye on the little ones so they don't fall off the edge into the water. Saw lots of families with their dogs.

    Texan Through and Through
My husband and I just visited Ennis and the Bluebonnet Trail this past weekend. The bluebonnets were beautiful, even though it is late in the season. The Ennis Garden Club keeps visitors updated on which fields have peaked and which have great viewing. We took their advice and drove the South Trail. Roadsides, meadows, pastures and yards were covered with the gorgeous blue blooms. We pulled over on the side of the road several times and took photos along with other sightseers. As long as you don't park on private property, block driveways or fire hydrants - anything goes. We printed our maps online and followed the signs and had a great day. The Bluebonnet Trail is well worth a visit!

    BIRTHDAY WEEKEND CELEBRATION WITH FRIENDS.
Was great travelling the country side looking at the Bluebonnets. Very relaxing drive. Even found a spot where you could walk in a field of Bluebonnets. This was the first time my two friends and I had ever been to Texas to see the Bluebonnets. Have plans to go back probably in 5 years when Ennis will be celebrating the 75th annual Bluebonnet Festival. Never know might be back next year. LOL Got a few pictures unable to upload them at this time.
