A Fun, Quick Stop

If you're going into downtown to visit the water tower (which you should) it's a fun, quick stop to cross the street and see the blarney stone. It's surprising that Ireland and Shamrock, Texas have developed the connection they have. Whether or not you kiss it is up to you.

    Little known addition
In a modest mounting at the corner of the park. Not much to look at, but a nice novelty for those who enjoy the little things a small town has to offer.

    Hard to Find, But Interesting
Google Maps will tell you that the Shamrock Blarney Stone is in Elmore Park, but apparently it has been moved to Blarney Stone Plaza just off US 83. It is displayed n a concrete cylinder with a Lexan cover, so you can not touch it. There is a display with information about Saint Patrick. There is another Blarney Stone in Shamrock. It is in the lobby of the Pioneer/Reynolds Hotel Museum. You can touch that one, if you want.
