    A Surprise Gem
We went to Blanco State Park knowing it was a small park. We didn't expect much from the trails since they weren't very long and we didn't think we'd be getting in the water because the day was pretty chilly. Our expectations were low but we were blown away. The Caswell Nature Trail turned out to be a beauty! We crossed over the dam at the far end of the trail and had lunch at the picnic tables on the other side of the river before crossing back over and finishing out the trail. It was by far an unexpected highlight and we ended up staying much longer than we intended. Great little getaway park!

    Really nice park
Being from Nebraska, we wanted to do some fly fishing. Read that trout was stocked in the river that passes through the park. You must pay for a day pass to get in but no fishing license is required. Nice park. Picnic tables are available and nice parking areas. There were workers mowing and doing regular maintenance work so obviously they have pride in the park. No luck on fishing, just one but it was nice
