Top notch!
The south course is a ball eater, and the north course is slightly more straight forward. This facility has two great public courses. The pro shop attendants have a tendency to display their perceived authority if your group sizes change to smaller numbers. Overall, top notch.

Golf course is in great shape
We played before the latest series of storms and the golf course was in great shape. Greens were running about 10.5 on the Stimpmeter and tee boxes were perfect. Beer cart could have been by more.

Great facility with two courses
I played the North Course in late January when the weather in Houston is least conducive to course conditions. Almost everything at Blackhorse makes it among the best public venues in the entire Houston area. The staff was great and quite accomodating, and the facility itself is top-notch. The only exception is the condition of the greens. They were in good condition, but compared to the three other public venues I visited on this trip they were a level below. Slightly rough surfaces and speed around 9, they were not as true as the greens at Wildcat or Golf Club of Houston, and not even close to the speeds at Woodforest. It was an enjoyable experience and would have been perfect if the greens had been as good as the other venues. The course layout itself is excellent.
