High Quality Baseball

Very fun attraction in the Big Bend, TX region. The professional minor league baseball team plays in historic Kokernot Field, a scaled down replica of Wrigley Field.

    A perfect slice
Thanks to a long ago Texas Monthly article I had Kokernot Field on my bucket list. Worth it, but for different reasons. Touted as the most beautiful ballpark in America, Kokernot Field may fall a bit shy in beauty, but it is absolutely everything a baseball park should be. It took me a while to figure out why this place felt so good. Scale. The field is, if course, full size 90 ft.between bases perfection. But the stands don't feel scaled down, they feel like a slice. If you've ever been a season ticket holder at a big league park you know the feeling: familiarity. Walking in your gate, up your ramp, to your row, where you nod to acquaintances around your seat. You get that at Kokernot in just one visit, a perfect slice of Wrigley, or Fenway or Dell Diamond. Except this fifty dollar a week Pecos League ball, so when a home town kid homers you pass the hat, and when you buy a beer it is served by the Assistant GM, and when you ask the ticket taker if it's OK to park right smack in front of the gate he says "sure, if you don't mind foul balls" and you don't until the first foul ball sends a few kids scurrying out of the stands, and the park, and one returns triumphantly brandishing a ball. A slice of baseball, cut out of a big league legend, tasting of Little League.

    Alpine Cowboys
Beautiful field, great prices and all seats have great view. The players were much better than expected and everyone was friendly. People would stop and visit with us and the ball players on both teams were playing with the kids and having a good time. It was like baseball should be. One of the visiting players summed it up when I asked him how he was doing when he said "it is a beautiful day and I get to play baseball".
