Nice - but beware of smoke smell

This really id's a great place. I'm grateful it's open and that it provides a safe place to bowl. The place really is old. It can't really compare to newer, cleaner, more updated facilities but if you can overlook those things, this is a great place to bowl. My only dislike is the strong smell of smoke that's embedded in the facility - probably from decades of build up when smoking was allowed there. Although smoking is no longer allowed, it still smells. The bar that's connected doesn't help. Again, if you can deal with it, it's a great place to bowl. Enjoy.

    Needs attention in some areas
This is located close to the intersection of Bandera Rd. and Huebner Rd. and has a large parking lot so parking was no issue. When we entered we noticed a small snack/food bar and past that, where the small arcade used to be, they were doing some construction. There was no wait to get a lane (there are a bunch of lanes). You could get a lane for an hour for $29.95 and play as many games as you could in that time frame and it included the shoes. But since we were with two young kiddos we opted to just pay for a game at $3.59 each and rent the shoes for $3.00 each. So that was $21.42 for three people for one game w/shoes. The place was mostly clean BUT the seats at the lanes really needed repair as the seat portion was missing the top cushions and the ball returns were VERY DIRTY. The computer worked fine as did the bowler display. They offer bumpers on the lanes for kids but we didn't see a way to remove when adults bowled so it gave adults more of an advantage too. They also have a bowling rack for the kid in the form of a dinosaur. They had a lot of bowling balls to select from with most fairly beat up and kinda dirty. The noise level wasn't too bad and there were quite a few lanes being used. I believe they do have specials on certain days and times but didn't seem to be one during the time/day we were there and we didn't check ahead since it was a spur of the moment request to go bowl. The employee did her job but didn't seemed thrilled about it:) This location is more convenient than some but we rarely go here and after this visit might not be back unless it get some repair and cleaning.

Easy access and not very busy
Visited here recently with a small child. This is located in Leon Valley which is a suburb of San Antonio. The parking lot is large so easy parking. Upon opening the doors to the establishment we were immediately struck with a cigarette smoke aroma and were hesitant to go further. But once inside, the smell was not around. In the entrance area there is a small concession and arcade room. But the day we were there the token machine and change machine were both out of order. The place was clean and the music not terribly loud. Luckily we visited mid morning, during the week, and it was not busy at all. We were set up quickly and the staff was helpful and friendly. The bumper guards worked well for the little one and he enjoyed the dinosaur ball ramp as well. Neither improved his game but he was glad the ball didn't keep going in the gutter. The cost for one child and one adult with shoe rental came to $15. But we saw a sign later that they have a happy hour price during certain hours that is much more reasonable. They also have a few vending machines for snacks and drinks. We would visit here again and play more than one game if discounted pricing.
