A Great Trail

This is a great walking trail. It has a nice walking surface and wanders through some beautiful East Texas forestland. There are lights and call boxes along the trail for security. However, as other reviewers have noted, there have been incidents on this trail. I’ve seen homeless folks on it is as it is very close to a busy part of town. I use it to walk my dog but have a carry license and always carry.

    good exercise trail
this is a nice place that connects some neighborhoods to some food and entertainment districts. It runs from my neighborhood to the mall, and then up to a different park that usually hosts lufkin area events. It has a reputation for being dangerous. i avoid it after 9pm or before 8am. please do not travel alone during those times or if you are afraid of being assaulted. there may also be vagrants that live along the trail if you wander off or go exploring too far.

A short exercise trail that joins two parks.
A beautiful, short exercise trail that joins two parks. Has had several incidents through the years that suggest it would be better to not go by yourself, and particularly not go yourself at night. The city has worked to make this trail safer.
