Anhalt Dance Hall

Anhalt is by far my favorite dance venue. I always feel like I’m getting out of town and going somewhere special due to its historic significance to our community. The band is always excellent and the dance floor is great.

    Best Old Dancehall
We have been to this venue many times over the years and it is our favorite dance hall to enjoy good country western music and dance the night away. It is off of the beaten path but they have a sign on Hwy. 46 for the turn. You travel back a ways on the country road to get there. Parking is in a field and had bumps and dips so we were glad we took our truck. The entrance fee varies depending on who is performing at the venue. It is all rustic settings but that is how the old dancehalls were/are. There is one area with picnic tables inside and the HUGE wooden dancefloor has wood bench seating all the way around the outer edge of the floor. The large bar area is in an adjacent area and also has picnic tables for seating. The bathrooms are in this area. Then to one side under a covered open area are more picnic tables. The dance hall has large screened windows with sliding shutters. Most were open but some were not which makes it even warmer as there is NO A/C. They have small and large fans positioned on the walls and around the areas BUT the night we went it was really crowded and HOT. Several people brought their own small battery fans to try to keep cool. No matter, it is still a GREAT dance venue with the large dance floor and GREAT history. We wish we lived closer to go here more often. They have a website listing the events/dances along with pricing. If you have never been to a 1800's dancehall in the country then this is one of the best to go to! We will be back.
