Relaxing, informative, memorial with a nice walking path

We lucked out stopping here during a food stop on our way back east. We were dying to actually sit down and eat as all restaurants offer only take out as they should. We just came off U.S. 40 and saw from McDonald's a large green area. It turned out to be a beautiful memorial with cannons, signage, a walking path and benches. We enjoyed learning about the history and appreciate the opportunity to get some peace and quiet as well as exercise.

Civil War battlefield at Parkers Crossroads
This was a neat stop. The visitors center has a short video which gave context to the battle and helped imagining the events at each stop on the driving tour route. It is an easy tour route with plenty of signs to help with the learning. Parking is available at each of the stops. The heat was almost unbearable so I would recommend going early in the morning or at other parts of the year.

    Nice walk right off highway
A nice way to stretch your legs and get a piece of history right off of the highway. The battlefield walk is well marked, paved and about a mile loop. Great spot to get out of the car mid way between Nashville and Memphis and get some local history.
