Informative and well laid out
Visiting from out of state, I like to see state capitols and local history museums. I'd say this one is ideal. Admission and parking are free and the info they have on Tennessee history and how it helped shape the nation's history was interesting and easy to read. They share a parking lot with the Farmer's Market food court so we had lunch there first and walked across the parking lot to the museum. Joined a free 2pm tour with Morgan that lasted an hour and was great. She focused on a few stories and artifacts around the museum, then I circled back to read on my own. They do have a kids area, but my six year old and wife were bored with that after a few minutes so they left and went back to the Farmer's Market and hung out there.

Museum visit
We stumbled across this museum on our way into town and then spent two and a half hors here. The museum is free, we might even have spent longer but after 2.5 hrs we badly needed a coffee. The lady at reception said no cafe onsite but the Farmers Market is along the road. The farmers market is a huge collection of cafes with live music.
