A Must Stop in Tennessee

This is truly a gem hidden in the hills of Tennessee. I was driving across the country with my daughter, and we stopped in for the world famous fried bologna sandwich, shakes, and fried pies. All of it was delicious! The bologna sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. But the real gem was Tiffany and the girls working at the store. They were so welcoming and wanted to know all about our trip and how things were going. Although this was our first time there, they made us feel like we were longtime customers. RM Brooks General Store is a must stop for anyone looking to step back into time and enjoy great food and even better company.

    OMG What a throw back
This is the cutest little store I've ever been in. The outside is so appealing with seating outside. Enter the store and it's like going back into the 1920's, when it built. There is a potbellied stove with rockers around it, lots of old stuff on the shelves. The back part has lots of tables and chairs to encourage people to stay awhile and enjoy. Katie, was working and made us a Hand pattied hamburger, handcut french fries, grilled hotdog and the most wonderful strawberry shake I've ever had in my life!!! They also have a large assortment of flavors of homemade fried pies. Make sure to try the coconut and the apple pies.

    Hospitality!
Miss Linda at the Grey Gables Bed and Breakfast suggested we go visit her daughter, Tiffany, at the R.M. Brooks General Merchandise. We stopped on our way to go for a hike. I fell in love with the people. Tiffany is as sweet as honey. The gentlemen eating breakfast in the back immediately struck up a conversation as if I had lived there all my life. The history just inside this place would take all day to explore. We bought some homemade fried pies to take with us. The crust may have been the best I have ever tasted. Stop by this place and say "Hello" to Tiffany. You will not be sorry.
