    Civil war History
If you enjoy history, do not miss this battlefield. We feel as if so much of our National history will someday be paved over for who knows what! The visitors center is your starting point with an interesting video of the battle and generals involved. This little known battle was very significant. You leave the center and go to the sections of the park. We are here on a beautiful late October day. I could have sat and enjoyed the first area for hours. Btw, you are right off I 40 so this is a lovely rest stop. Rest rooms (very clean) at the visitor center and first battlefield area!

A wonderful driving/walking tour of the Battlefield
This is a park based on the December 31, 1862 battle of Parkers Crossroads. A large part of the battlefield has been preserved and restored, with an excellent driving tour, There also about 4 miles of walking trails. A number of cannon are also in place. There is an excellent visitor Center/Museum. This is an area of nice scenery and friendly people.
