Ozone Falls, Tennessee, United States

4.5 (182 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Crab Orchard Waterfalls

Picturesque waterfall

The first stop of our trip and it did not disappoint. We drove 2 hours from gatlinburg to view this gem and it was well worth it. The view from the top of the falls was gorgeous. The hike down to the falls took about 10 minutes and was a little tricky with all the slippery rocks so definitely wear hiking shoes. There’s a small pool of water you can swim in at the bottom which is very cold yet refreshing. Take some time to relax on the boulders and take it all in! Get there early around 8 if you want to be the only ones there as we were.

    Amazing Views
I took my dog to Ozone Falls while we were in the middle of a several hour drive. It was not far off of the interstate, which I appreciated immensely. There were several places to park, although they were pretty full when I was there. Once we got down to the falls, my dog and I just sat and appreciated the view. It was so incredible. Even though there were quite a few people there, we had lots of space to ourselves. We walked all the way around the falls, so it was fun to see it from all of the different angles. There were people swimming, and there were lots of families there. The path to and from the falls is not very long at all. It started raining while I was there, and I was surprised at how slippery and how much more difficult it got due to the rain. If it has rained recently or is scheduled to rain, I recommend taking that into consideration. I am an avid hiker but found it difficult to climb out when it was wet. Otherwise, I have absolutely no complaints. I love it here and will be coming back.

    Pure beautiful nature
Our daughter had recommended the falls so we planned a day trip. It is only about four miles off of I-40 and easy to find. The walk to the top of the falls is an easy walk but not a lot to see from there. The path to the bottom is steep, rocky and difficult. However the hike is worth it as the falls are spectacular and this is still pretty much untouched nature. You can swim in the water at the base.
