Norris Lake, Tennessee, United States

4.5 (69 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in La Follette Bodies of Water

Norris never disappoints!

Try to imagine the most beautiful clear green water you may have seen, and Norris might just top it. Fishing, waterskiing, surfing, hiking and paddle boarding are all great and it’s what keeps us coming back year after year. The marinas are great for live Music and food, the locals friendly. Its a great spot for family and a place to recenter. We love it!

    LOOKS LIKE FUN
We went to see Norris Lake looking for a vacation spot. The water was very low as usual in the fall/winter as the reservoir had not been opened yet. I could imagine it being a great place to be in the summer with several marinas as the water was so clear! The Deerfield community was about 15 miles off the main road only 2 lanes and very windy. I',m not sure I would like to tow a boat on it in the dark! We will go back and rent a place for sure.

We have the great pleasure of living full time on Norris Lake
The lake is absolutely beautiful with calm waters, beautiful mountain views and lots of great marinas and restaurants on the lake. The biggest drawback, especially for homeowners, is the fact that they don't always bring the lake up to "summer" pool and this year started lowering the lake tremendously by the first of August. What this means for many of us is that we have to continually move our docks and in many instances take our boats out completely. We had several neighbors whose boats were taken out mid August. Considering that weather wise we have a couple more months of summer this is really disheartening. The TVA does not consider recreation a priority at all,so all complaints fall on deaf ears. Oddly enough, another TVA lake, Louden, near Knoxville and the home of many influential locals, does not get lowered in this manner. I know tourism is a big financial boon for this area and often wonder how the low lake levels affect late summer visitors. With the exception of that, Norris lake is one of this most beautiful places in eastern Tennessee. Great ski and wakeboard lake.
