Visit the the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center and learn about the history of our nation's highest military award for valor, from the First Medals in 1863 to the present. The Heritage Center works to educate Americans about the six character traits associated with the Medal of Honor and inspire visitors to develop the highest qualities of character demonstrated by its recipients: Patriotism, Citizenship, Courage, Integrity, Sacrifice and Commitment. The Heritage Center offers hand-on activities for visitors of all ages and was particularly designed to provide children and student educational opportunities.

Fabulous tribute to US Heroes & Patriots from TN
It was very moving to read the stories of those exceptional individuals (mostly military personnel) who performed heroic, patriotic acts. Allow plenty of time to read their stories. Parking for 3 hrs was $3 a block away.

A new gem in the city
Since opening in February, they have done a tremendous job with the new facility. Worth checking out now they are so close to all the best places to see and eat in Chattanooga. Their objective to have the character traits of the recipients of the Medal of Honor is inspiring.
