Natchez Trace Bike Ride April19-25

Excellent fully supported week long bike ride along The Natchez Trace Parkway. Our guide, Phillip, supplied us with a detailed itinerary prior to the ride that needed little if any alterations. We lucked out on great weather; the accommodations were varied and top notch, as was all the food, including the snacks and lunch stops that were waiting for us at predetermined mile post markers along The Trace as well as the evening meals and the breakfasts each morning that fueled us before the start of a new day. I look forward to doing the ride again in the future.

Epic Cycling Adventure on the Trace
First off, Philip is an exceptional tour guide, bike mechanic, and just a pleasure to travel with. When i unpacked my bike there was serious damage due to the airlines neglect. Philip was able to get the hard to find parts and repair my bike so I didn't miss a mile of the Trace. He knows the Trace backwards and forwards. He picked exceptional B and B's including antebellum propoerties and a farm/animal sanctuary. He pointed us to excellent stopping points on the trace for hikes including one where we spotted several alligators. As for the Trace itself, it is a bucket list ride for cyclists. The road has minimal traffic and the drivers were very courteous. The road surface is well maintained. The northern part is challenging, but not too diffucult. Philip shuttled us through Jackson as there was too much urban traffic to cycle through the city. Once you get south of Tennessee it is relatively flat. I found it scenic, but I was more into the history of the Trace. There are historical markers every few miles. Some of the history is tough particularly the connection to slave trade and the Trail of Tears. Philip can share much of the history of the area. There are very few stores or amenities beside picnic areas and campgrounds so it is really best to do with a support vehicle. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with Natchez Trace Cycle tours.

    Top Notch Care
We were given top notch free of charge care and we hadn't even signed up for the tour! My husband and I were just a day into our 444 mile ride and I had a puncture in my brand new tire. We were stopped in a rest area with the bike upside down when the a SAG vehicle passed by and then turned around and came back. The driver hopped out and took over the fix job. He put a boot in that didn't hold so replaced it with a patch that is still holding. He told us where we could buy a new tire after putting one of his on and learning that it was just millimeters to big for my bike. If this company cares for non-customers so well, I imagine that the paying guests are treated like royalty! We highly recommend cycling the Natchez Trace and if you are looking for support, go no further.
