Wonderful Event

We had my mom's 80th birthday party here and it was absolutely wonderful. The museum staff was easy to work with. The room was set up comfortably with tables and chairs, as well as chairs along the wall. We had a small stage, but it was great for people to mingle. It was beautiful with the stained glass windows. It has a small kitchen off to the side. They also allowed us to have access to the museum, which is very interesting. It was a wonderful place for a small event.

    Beautiful Musium
Situated in the historic district of Collierville. Set in a historic church. The stained glass is beautiful! Great place to learn about the rich history of the town and area before walking through the district and visiting the local shops and restaurants.

Small, but a good place to begin your tour of Collierville
The museum is housed in an historical church. Static displays tell Collierville's part in the Civil War, the founding of the town and it's growth. A variety of displays on other topics, such as Native Americans, the Wessington Plantation, and guest speakers on Memphis and other local history are there to spark visitors' interest for further research. Not much of a gift shop--mostly handcrafted mugs, they could use a book section offering for sale books on the various topics they feature. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable. They often host school groups with programs geared for younger visitors. It's also a venue for local artists to show their work. It's always free.
