    A Historical Gem
It was our last day in the area and we picked out several places to visit and found this gem on Trip Advisor. We were greeted by Mr. Jim Doland who became out tour guide of the Military Memorial Museum. He gave us detail history of the building, local military, and battles from the Civil War to present time. Thousands of artifacts that were donated by friends and family of military men and women. A blessing and honor to see this memorial museum.

Must see- a hidden gem with amazing guides! Let them take you through.
This small, 1 floor walkthrough is jam-packed with so much history! As soon as we walked in, volunteer Jerry greeted us and gave us an incredible nearly hour long tour of the highlights in here. The walk through is organized beginning with memorabilia from pre-civil war and continues through most current military. So many connections to local heros are in this tiny space. Jerry was able to find highlight plenty to keep my history buff husband on his toes while also holding the interest of my “do we have to” teenagers. Well done! And all of this is FREE. The place is run in donations and awesome volunteers. Plan a visit. Sure, you could just walk through in 15 minutes BUT if you let one of them guide you through and listen to what they have to share, everyone will learn something here.
