CowTown's baseball park

Been going to games here since the beginning in 1974 when I was a teenager. Just went this past weekend also. Got to have a "Miss Jane's Bologna sandwich" HA! Hope our Twins are back next year, but who knows??? Guess it's be JC and the Cardinals if not our Twins. Shame if they're not back, but I understand the BIG BOYS in St.Paul/Minneapolis want BETTER and who can blame them! Can't you just imagine the shock on these young men's faces when they come from some first class college and see the deplorable conditions they'll be in for 3 months!?

    Great Experience
    1) No line to get in. We got our seats about 45 minutes before game time. 2) $4 for my boy, $5 for me but we "up-graded" to the $7 "box" seats behind home plate. Unless you bring your own chairs, which some do, or pads...it's probably worth it. 3) No line and a short wait for food. Quality decent. Staffed by local church groups. $4 hamburgers, $4 chili cheese fries. 4) VERY easy to get to the park, if your GPS doesn't lead you astray. Plenty of parking close to entrance. 5) Screen is pretty thick and almost all the way around, but you get used to it. 6) They don't serve beer. I would've liked a ?...but who can blame them these days? I got over it. 7) Field is not maintained well and is old. But what of it? It didn't affect the players at all that I noticed, and it actually added to the nastolgic experience. 8) The between-inning activities we're not as good as I've seen at other minor league parks...but who cares? 9) They have fallen prey to the modern dictim that everything in life needs a sound track, but the music wasn't irritatingly loud and they paused for at-plates. 10)The staff was great. The attendant in my section was a great old guy and was very nice to my son. That goes a long way... 11) The restrooms weren't bad, with little to no line. 12) There are some comments on here comparing it to Johnson City. I had a great time there too. The park is bigger, better maintained, and nicer all around. BUT...longer lines everywhere, it is privately owned (I think) so that's probably why, they have beer (but it's horrible). They had a crowd of 3,000+ the night I was there. The Twins had about 500. (JC is a bigger city...of course they are going to pull a bigger crowd.) 13) I found the crowd here to be well behaved and a lot of fun. 14)THE BASEBALL WAS GREAT! These guys play well and are obviously very well coached. It's always fun to sit by the scouts and watch them work. This is old time baseball, and a true slice of Americana. What a treat.

Love watching the twins play but one of the major downfalls is they don't serve beer at the stadium with the cardinals being so close more of the younger crowd are going there one of the reasons the park is struggling in my opinion
