Passing through
I was Road tripping through northwestern Tennessee, and a local recommended that I stop at Michael Ballard‘s Full Throttle Sloonshine Distillery. It was an early afternoon during mid week, so there were only a couple of other visitors. there aren’t too many tourist attractions in that neck of the woods, so it was refreshing to have somewhere to stop and break up the long drive. They have a moonshine tasting and the woman running the store was really friendly. Not too far from Reelfoot Lake if you are visiting or camping in that area.

Excellent Stop on a Ride or as a Destination
Have been there several times and hope to go back several more! Have never had a bad experience. Been there by myself and with my wife and/or other riding buddies. The people are always friendly and willing to help but not pushy. A few times have even run into Michael there and each time he has went out of his way to Welcome me/us. Great Sloonshine and even better now that he has added his Whiskey’s. Have been there just for the store and also to some of the events he has hosted there. Great to have these opportunities in our neck of the woods! Highly recommended!!!

Michael Ballard's distillary
What a fun stop! Michael Ballard of Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis has opened a distillery in his home town of Trimble and it's very well done. We had the place to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon in May and got the VIP tasting! We tried a small sip of almost all the flavors and my favorites were the coffee flavor and the trademark S'loonshine. The walls are covered in old lumber and the decor is very well done. And again, we were fortunate and were able to get bottles signed by Michael for great gifts for our friends who love moonshine! We walked by the distillery which wasn't in operation that day but we could still get a whiff of the sour mash. Go by Miss Vickie's diner down the street and have some good country cooking (it's also owned by Michael).
