Home of a TN hero

I drove out knowing I needed a reservation in advance to go inside the reconstructed house - partially made from materials from his original house. I didn't call to do an interior tour, but did take a picture of the house and his mother's grave, read the information, and went on my way. There is a small parking area in front of the cabin with a handful of picnic tables.

    Quick Stop if interested
Nice little place and informative but can't get in unless you call ahead for time. Small parking area but have they chamber never heard of volunteers to keep this open for visitors. Stop if you have a interest in Davy Crockett but that is about it. Could be a lot better

MUST MAKE A RESERVATION - a simple phone call
I visited the cabin 7/10/19. I planned this as a quick stop on a tight schedule several months ago. Following their website, I scheduled my visit mid-day, when they were scheduled to be open. Upon arriving at the cabin, there was a note posted that stated their hours, BUT SAID YOU NEEDED TO CALL FOR A RESERVATION. That is a change. The note said to call City Hall 731-665-7253 or one of several key holders. Sadly, I did not think to take a photo of the note until miles away and some of the names are different from the picture posted, however it is similar to the outdated photo already posted. Since we had no time to wait around, we just looked in the windows and got a very good sense of the interior. I write these reviews to help fellow travelers.
