Humbling and heart wrenching but worth a visit
I'm a big supporter of St. Jude and this place is worth a trip. There is a nice area to walk through that explains the beginnings and current mission of St. Jude and the story of how Danny Thomas decided to begin the hospital. If you have the opportunity to get a guided tour of the pavilion, I recommend that you do (but you will still get plenty out of a self-guided visit). There is a very nice St. Jude gift shop that you can walk to across the street and pick up items that support St. Jude. If you have a heart for the mission of St. Jude, a short stop here will be worth your time. Give yourself about an hour or so for the visit. I recommend you call ahead because they often close the pavilion for private events.

St. Jude's children's hospital too
You need to book this in advance to get cleared by security, but what a fabulous place to see. Free care for children until they are 18. Fabulous philosophy underlying the place. Allow at least 2 hours for the tour, and consider eating in the cafe. Healthy, inexpensive, and really good food.

Inspiring and beautiful gravesite
Start your visit at the Pavilion where the history of St Judes and the life of Danny Thomas are explained. Small but informative. Then outdoors there is a gorgeously landscaped garden with the family gravesites. Inspiring how the man helped so many children with cancer.
